The goal of our site is to enhance the residents and visitors of Marshall County, by providing more accessibility of county news & notices, upcoming events, county departments and services. Organized in 1836 in honor of Chief Justice John Marshall. Marshall County has a history of being one of the leading agricultural counties of Indiana. Every farmer knows that the deeper the roots grow, the stronger the plant will be. We think that also holds true for communities. Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan Public Meeting Announcement
The Marshall County Hazard Mitigation Steering Committee will host a public information and strategy planning session at 6:00pm on Thursday, June 29, 2017 in Room 203 of the Marshall County Building, located at 112 W. Jefferson Street in Plymouth, IN. 46563.
Over the last several months, a planning committee consisting of community members has worked with The Polis Center at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) to update a Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan for Marshall County. Once the plan is updated, the committee will submit it to FEMA for approval. The committee will also work to develop funding for any mitigation activities that are identified.
The steering committee is interested in receiving public input on the plan. Anyone who has questions or would like to provide input should contact Clyde Avery, Marshall County Emergency Management Director, 574-936-3740.
