Our office is available to pursue prosecution and collection of most types of bad checks passed within the county at no cost to you.
General guidelines to keep in mind are:
- The more identification information you collect increases the likelihood of successful prosecution .
- Out of state checks are almost impossible to successfully collect.
- Cash or merchandise must be exchanged at the same time as the check, not simply payment on a pre-existing account .
Long delays in turning the check over to us diminish the chances of a successful prosecution (maximum limit is one year from date of the check).
