MARSHALL COUNTY PROBATION OFFICE
POSITION: CHIEF PROBATION OFFICER
Marshall County, Indiana is now accepting applications for a full-time Chief Probation Officer. Duties require office administration and supervision of adult and juvenile probation officers and clerical staff. Caseload supervision of probationers may be required. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Candidates must be a Certified Indiana Probation Officer. A minimum of 5 years experience as a probation officer or similar work experience is required.
Candidate should be knowledgeable of county budgetary processes and be prepared to monitor, prepare, and present the annual probation budget. Candidate should expect to work with other county agencies such as law enforcement agencies and the prosecutor’s office. Knowledge of Community Corrections programming is beneficial, but not required. Candidates should also possess excellent oral and written communication skills as well as computer knowledge. Prior supervisory experience is a plus.

MARSHALL COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT
POSITION: MECHANIC
Marshall County Highway Department is seeking applicants for the position of Mechanic. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED. Must have a valid Indiana Driver’s License and be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Position serves as Mechanic for Marshall County Highway Department, responsible for performing all major and minor overhaul and repair of department trucks and heavy equipment.
Applicant needs knowledge of accepted principles and practices involved in gasoline and diesel repair and maintenance, and thorough familiarity with diagnostic, overhaul, and repair procedures and tools, including equipment manuals, J-Pro software and computer skills.
Incumbent is responsible for diagnosis and repair of a wide variety of vehicles and equipment and works independently under general supervision, making decisions and taking necessary actions to effect necessary repairs. Generally, work is performed according to general instructions from supervisor. Incumbent is frequently forced to deviate from standard practices and to effectively innovate to achieve desired results, especially in regard to equipment for which neither parts nor repair manuals can be obtained.
Ability to perform duties of Truck Driver and Heavy Equipment Operator as situations require or as directed. Incumbent will be required to plow snow as needed. Ability to comply with all employer and department policies and work rules, including but not limited to, attendance, safety, drug-free workplace, and personal conduct.

MARSHALL COUNTY PROBATION DEPARTMENT
POSITION: FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES COUNSELOR
Job Category: Professional
Status: Full-Time
The Marshall County Probation Department employs two Masters level mental health
counselors for specifically addressing the mental health needs of juveniles and their
families with the goal of minimizing anti-social behaviors and limiting future contacts
with the criminal justice system.
Qualified candidates would have a Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social
work, or a related field and at least two years of practical counseling experience
preferred.
Applicants must have good communication skills, need to possess excellent
organizational skills, and can work with confidential information in a professional and
ethical manner.
Candidates should be familiar with Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel. The desired
professional would have at least two years’ experience and possess a valid Driver's License.
Familiarity with the Juvenile Court Processes is desired, but not mandatory. Rate of pay
is based upon the approved Marshall County job classification up to $51,669.80.
A criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screen are required.
